Matrix ScaffoldingOnline and On Lok Yuen Building, Hong Kong18 March 20267.00 pm to 8.30pm Compared with traditional bamboo scaffold, matrix scaffold is an upgraded system in the Hong Kong construction industry. By using high-strength materials such as steel pipes to replace bamboo as the main structural poles, matrix scaffold can withstand higher wind pressures during typhoons, thereby enhancing the overall performance of the scaffold system. In this seminar, the speakers, who are engineering professionals, will highlight the advancements of matrix scaffold over traditional bamboo scaffold, with the aim of fostering a safer working environment on construction sites.  KA YUEN DAN LUISend Email Project and Commercial Assistant My major responsibility is to participate in tender meetings, advicing the tender team, for the details of each project, so that our best offer could be precise and applicable. I am also responsible for the initial stage of the projects, linking up site management and the main contractors, and ensure good communication between them. My third major duty is to handle relationship with key clients SHKP, Hip Hing Construction, Paul Y Construction, Hip Seng Construction etc, resolving project disputes and claims.
kwok keung fung  Mr Conrad Fung, Deputy Managing Director, Cheung Kee Fung Cheung Construction Co., Ltd. Mr FUNG is the Deputy Managing Director of Cheung Kee Fung Cheung Construction Co., Ltd. He graduated from the University of Wolverhampton with a degree in Construction Management and obtained a Master degree in Business Administration from the University of Sheffield. He has over 30 years’ experience in building construction and commercial management. Mr. FUNG is a member of the Quantity Surveyors International, the Chartered Institute of Building and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and fellow member of the Hong Kong Institute of Construction Manager. He is currently a member of the Hong Kong Housing Society and a council member of the Hong Kong Construction Association. He is also appointed as part-time lecturer in the School of Continuing and Professional Education, City University of Hong Kong.
Kin Lun Tong  Dr. Thomas Tong is an experienced course lead with a demonstrated history of working on data analytics in the construction industry. He has a strong education and professional skilled in Construction Data Modeling, Market Forecasting Research, Management, Leadership, and Consulting in the construction sector. Thomas is focusing on the management of the degree courses in Construction Management, and Quantity Surveying. He previously served as a lead researcher to build up a public forecasting model for demand and supply of manpower of construction personnel for the industry.
Yun Fai, Jeffrey Leung  Jeffrey graduated with a degree in engineering from McGill University, Canada in 2010. He has worked in both design consultants and contractors in Hong Kong and Canada as design engineer and project manager. He is also a Chartered Civil Engineer and a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (UK) and his key experience is in construction project management. He is delighted to be appointed the secretary of the board in the QSi association of Hong Kong and he looks forward to share his ideas and experience in construction with other members from the Quantity Surveyors International.
